Construction Challenge

Unique to Adventure 001, this exciting and challenging event will give you and your guests the opportunity to compete on four different construction site machines. Typical format as follows...

09.30 - Arrive for a workman's breakfast of bacon rolls and beans and mugs of tea and coffee. Division into teams followed by briefing on the days events.
10.00 - Hard hats on and ready for action! Teams will alternate between 4 Construction Machines with practice and competition in each event.
12.00 - Doorstep sandwiches with pork pies and pickle in the Lodge.
12.30 - Activities re-commence.
15.00 - Late lunch in the Lodge.
16.30 - Optional prize giving. Guests depart at leisure.

Clay pigeaon Shooting
Shooting takes place in teams of up to six and each team will have an instructor who will brief everyone about gun safety and the basic principles of clay shooting. The safety message is vital but is put over in a non-threatening way. We are here to have fun, we do not pretend to be able to teach someone everything about shooting on one visit but we do ensure that everyone hits plenty of targets and, with our extensive shooting layouts we can challenge the expert as well as flatter the novice. Low recoil cartridges specially loaded are used for all novices to ensure that only memories (not bruises) remain! The shooting will take place on a range of stands which provide different targets of varying degrees of difficulty.

Patriot Buggies
Patriots are the latest idea from America. Powered by a 725cc Kohler engine with bags of torque, they have masses of get up and go. Unlike Pilots, Patriots have two seats for that "shared experience" with an intercom system inside the helmets to ensure you can give each other FULL encouragement. If you want to change drivers, you don't have to change seats....simply move the steering wheel from right to left. With all round suspension Patriots are very much at home on rough terrain and off roading courses and are especially suited to those who "feel the need for speed". A unique game of "snookart" based loosely on snooker makes this a really exciting activity to play.

Powerturn Racing
Bored with Karting and Quads then try the worlds newest and most exciting driving sensation. These zippy little buggies can "tip" up on to two back wheels to produce a "wheelie"! These buggies "tip" and "turn" through a series of challenging courses. Steering is achieved by the use of two levers. Powerturn has all the buzz and excitement you could want!

Off-Road Landrovers
This is an event for team players who feel able to put their trust in their driver on some hair raising terrain. Teams are thoroughly briefed by their instructors and given the do's and don'ts of off-roading. Then it's all aboard for a practice lap with your instructor at the wheel. Having only seen the course once, team members will have to negotiate our short but tricky off-road course. This is not a spectator sport as everyone is in the vehicle together and can give vocal support (or pleas to be allowed out) to their driver. Competitions on the course are judged on a basis of technique and skill and also how much you can afford to bribe your instructor. Everyone drives but few will have driven anything quite like this!

Honda Pilots
For the more adventurous Pilots provide a really exciting activity. 400 cc Honda pilots are used, these are fully automatic and are operated by hand controls only. All guests are thoroughly briefed on every aspect of the machine's performance and all the safety drills are gone over in detail. Pilots are seriously good fun! You and your guests will be able to race against the clock on our wide open circuit. A team of six guests will usually have one instructor and two Pilots for their session, everyone will have the chance to get the feel of the machines during practice laps and then will race the clock in a hard fought competition.

Quads
Life in the fast lane starts here. Our quad bikes are user-friendly 125 Yamaha's and are fully automatic with hand controls. Therefore you don't need any previous experience to be able to use them. After your initial briefing on the machines, guests are issued with crash helmets and overalls if wet. Gentle practice is the order of the day to start with and once everyone has mastered the basics the serious competition begins! This can either be in the form of a time trail around our landscaped wooded track or a safari around the main woods with points added or deducted for being able to negotiate the various natural obstacles that you and your instructors find on the way.

Archery
The element of fun and excitement are combined with a superb range of Archery and Crossbow options. You and your guests will receive expert instruction and will be briefed on the basic safety rules of Archery. State of the art "Compound" longbows and scoped and open sighted crossbows of the highest standard are used. Exploding and moving claybuster targets are all part of this exciting and innovative alternative that everyone of any age can really enjoy.

Olympic Quadathlon
Go for Gold! The four disciplines in this event will require immense concentration and a good eye. Using air rifles, air pistols, compound crossbows and pistol crossbows you will be confronted by a range of static and moving targets. With expert friendly tuition this event is exciting, challenging and loads of fun.

Air Weapons
Olympic recoil and recoilless rifles and pistols both with scopes and open sites as well as the very highest quality laser sites for daylight use. Staffed by our professional team of instructors you and your guests will have the chance to use the very best equipment and try for a range of targets from the Nationally regulated paper targets to bottles of champagne suspended by an infuriatingly thin piece of string! Why not try an amazing hybrid of archery and air weapons and try our arrow firing blackpowder musket?

Falconry
Only a lucky few ever get the chance to actually handle and work with fully trained birds of prey and this a great opportunity and a very "different" alternative to some of the more active events. Your guests will be able to learn the fascinating history of one of the oldest sports in the world while at the same time learn how to handle a range of birds from Harris Hawks, Eagle Owls, Kestrels and Falcons. Your instructor Terry Large and his team are enthusiastic and a fund of knowledge about the birds and their habits both in the wild and trained. One of the highlights of any day that includes Falconry as an option is the spectacular display of Falconry where Terry shows a falcon at top speed as it stoops at over 100 miles an hour inches over the heads of you and your guests!

Hovercraft
Manoeuvre your craft over the figure of eight course and park it in the garage....not as easy as it looks! It requires a delicate touch to hover just inches above the ground.

Reverse Steer/Blindfold Driving
Do you normally have trouble with left and right...wait till you try reverse steer in our specially adapted Landrover. Think right...but go left! Infuriating and fun.  Are you prepared to put all your trust in your companions? While the driver is completely "blind" the rest of your group will all give directions through our twisting turning maze of cones. A real test of teamwork and communication.

Argocats
These 8 wheeled amphibious vehicles require a surprisingly light touch to manoeuvre them through the slalom, gates and roundabouts of this challenging course.

Go Karting
Race against the clock around the figure of eight course in these 250cc off road Pacer Go Karts. Only inches from the ground the sensation of speed is truly thrilling, definitely one for those with "the need for speed"

Trials Car (Hill Climb)
These lightweight kit cars are rear wheel driven to maximise their hill climbing capability. With "fiddle" brakes for each of the driving wheels giving maximum traction on the slippery, tree covered slope. The higher you climb through the trees the greater the points scored.

Rally Cars
After practising in our rear wheel drive Escort RS2000 you will face the "Time Trial Challenge". Slide and spin your way through the slalom course, to minimise your penalty score. Skilled steering and a sensitive touch on the throttle are required.

Helicopter Challenge
After 30 minutes tuition with our highly experienced instructor you will take to the skies in our 2-seater helicopter. Once airborne you will take the controls and attempt to keep the helicopter hovering 10 feet above the ground...watch out for the unexpected.

Helicopter Lesson
Our friendly and professional instructors will give you a brief introduction to the theory of helicopter flying then its up, up and away! Co-ordination and concentration are the order of the day.

Fixed Wing Flying Lesson
With many years of experience our instructors will quickly get you in the air and you will "have control" This initial lesson could be the start of your flying career...

Scorpion Tanks
These fast manoeuvrable tanks steered by stick controls will challenge your co-ordination, concentration and driving skills as you manoeuvre them through the demanding obstacle course.

Paintball
A combination of Dye (!) Hard and Rolf Harris makes this fast and furious game great fun. Pump action paint guns with bulk paint hoppers provide hours of continuous battle. Camouflage gear and protective clothing provided.

Fly Fishing
Enjoy the tranquil setting of West Wycombe Park with its crystal clear lake and streams and the stunning backdrop of Dashwood House, the Palladian mansion still home to the Dashwood family. Experienced ghillies will instruct you in this ancient and fascinating art showing you the best places on the estate to catch our plentiful stocks of brown and rainbow trout.
